Twenty five pupils from St Richard’s catholic college years 10 and 11 went on a five day geography field trip to Iceland, a trip which gave them chance to learn about one of the most tectonically active places in the world and witness geography in action.

Highlights included standing either side of the Mid-Atlantic ridge and seeing the newest land created on the planet, climbing up a Hjalparfoss waterfall, walking in crampons on Solheimajokull glacier, and bathing in the Blue Lagoon.
