Serious accident on marsh road

Police are seeking witnesses to a collision between two cars on the A259 near Hooe in which several people were seriously injured.

At 1.30pm on Saturday a blue Peugeot collided with a black Vauxhall Corsa travelling in the opposite direction, on the marsh road near the junction with Coneyburrow Lane.

The 51-year old Hastings man driving the Peugeot was taken to the Royal London Hospital, and the 42-year old Bexhill man driving the Corsa was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton. Three passengers in the Corsa, a 25-year old woman, an 11-year old girl and an eight-year old boy, were also taken to the same hospital.

All casualties were assessed as being in a serious but not life threatening conditions.
