Seriously injured Bexhill woman '˜could have been attacked'

A Bexhill woman mysteriously suffered serious facial injuries while walking home from Hastings with police claiming she could have been attacked.

The 49-year-old woman was found hurt in Upper Sea Road, Bexhill, and taken to Eastbourne District General Hospital by ambulance for treatment on Monday, July 11.

Police would like to hear from anyone who may have seen what happened or noticed her making her way back from Hastings between 10pm and midnight, following a route along well-lit main roads.

Businesses with external CCTV cameras and motorists with dash cams are also being asked to check footage at the relevant times and places in case they can help officers piece together how the woman came by her injuries.

The woman was wearing her hair in a ponytail and may have been carrying a Sports Direct bag.
