Service marks 200th anniversary

A COMMEMORATIVE service to mark the 200th anniversary of Nelson's victory at Trafalgar was held at St Augustine's Church.

Members of the Royal Naval Association and the Hastings and District Association of Wrens featured in the congregation of over 400 who filled the church.

Other guests included Town Mayor Cllr Joy Hughes.

The service was conducted by Father Robert Coates and the address given by the Venerable Basil O' Farrell.

Standards were taken to the altar and the bidding prayer said for the sacrifice of men at the battle and the leadership of Lord Nelson.
