The 1st Sidley All Saints Scout Group will be holding its official launch on Saturday October 10.
It takes place at 2pm at All Saints Church Hall, All Saints Lane, Bexhill.
Group Secretary Sarah Parris said: “The 1st Sidley All Saints Scout Group was formed in January 2015. Previously the group was nurtured under the 2nd Bexhill flag until forming as a Sidley group.
“Scouting has given the children of Sidley the opportunity to be more involved in their local community, to take part in activities that they may not be able to access in their everyday lives and to be part of a national organisation.
“The launch will be an opportunity for the children, their families, leaders and adult helpers to celebrate and share their experiences, hard work and dedication in company with other members of local scouting and community groups.
“The Mayor of Bexhill has kindly agreed to attend and to say a few words to open the launch.
The group has already enjoyed a number of activities, since being formed, including taking part in a joint camp.
The All Saints Sidley Scouts group comes under the umbrella of Senlac District Scouts.
Senlac District is taking part in a national campaign called The Big Adventure, which is aimed at recruiting more adult volunteers to help run Scout groups and keep them going.
Harry Saunders, from Senlac Scouts, said: “If you are parent or relation of a young person attending one of the Groups in Senlac please speak to the leader to discuss how you may be able to help.
“Helpers are always welcome but without the required ratio of Leaders Sections cannot increase numbers and waiting lists will grow. Don’t delay talk today. Parents wishing to place their young children into the Scout Movement in Senlac can call 01424 211465.
