Slaves wanted - timewasters need not apply.

It's not every day you see an appeal for slaves but those of you with dramatic bent might like to know extras are needed for productions of Aida and Turandot at Eastbourne Congress Theatre.

Ellen Kent and Amphitheatre Productions is to stage Aida on Monday February 2 and Turandot will be the next evening, Tuesday February 3.

Ellen Kent is now inviting people to take part in the production as extras playing slaves, soldiers and townspeople.

The parts include the Royal family who have been enslaved by the conquering Armies of Egypt. There will also be parts as Egypt's soldiers in the Triumphal March.

The Opera tells the story of an Ethiopian princess who is a slave girl in Ancient Egypt; she falls for the Egyptian hero Radames '“ and their love affair unfolds on stage with passionate and shattering consequences.

Everyone over 18 years old is welcome to register as an extra in this production. All you have to do to register your name is to call Tel: 01634 820226 to leave a message or email [email protected] and we will return your call.

Please make sure you are free on the date of the production.

Extras do not need stage experience, just enthusiasm to go on stage. Costumes and a rehearsal will be provided on the day.
