Bexhill’s best dressed Christmas window belongs to Bexhill Florist which triumphed in a town centre competition held at the weekend.

The shop won the Lions Trophy for its interpretation of a Snow White theme with a detailed display in flowers and also a donation of £100 which is decided will go to the Motor Neurone Disease Assocation.

Bexhill Caring Community topped the charity shops, and other winners were Goodman & Brooks in the hair and beauty salon group, and Little British Tea Shop in the eateries category, which featured handmade edible tree decorations. They also receive prizes of £25 to be donated to the charity of choice.

Also praised by Bexhill and Battle News, which held the compeition, were the Hospice shop on the corner of Devonshire Rd. E H Warford’s jewellers, the YMCA shop, No48, Save the Children Snow White, La Collina Garden, Rarity on Sea Road, Seaside Gallery, Beauty Haven, and Bestsellers.

Competition organiser Hillary Randall particularly enjoyed the Snow White theme and said: “Oxfam went to town on a Snow White dress made from paper snowflakes! La Maison has an ever changing beautiful white window, and Mad Expectations has a lovely traditional display. IsseaPink, in Wickham Avenue, has a beautiful collection of hand-painted Snow White characters. In Sackville Road Starlings had another snowflake theme, this time showing off Snow White and the 7 Bexhill Makers!”
