Spate of car crimes

POLICE are investigating a spate of car crime. Over a period of three days, a "high number" of vehicles have been damaged in the town centre.

"Vehicles have had sharp instruments put into the tyres, causing considerable damage. The main area for this damage has been in the Amherst Road, Reginald Road, Beeching Road, Eastwood Road and Rotherfield Avenue areas."

A further two cars had all four tyres slashed in Rotherfield Avenue overnight on Wednesday.

Police investigating the spate of damage say three cars on the Honda garage forecourt in Beeching road had tyres slashed over the weekend.

Other incidents have been reported in Eastwood Road while in Holliers Hill cars were deliberately scratched.

Police want witnesses to call Bexhill police station on 0845 6070999 and ask that if anyone sees anything suspicious in future they ring 999 immediately.
