Two major events in Bexhill will receive a financial boost of thousands of pounds, thanks to a local entrepreneur.
Alastair Hazell, the man behind ARGH! and the Discover Bexhill website, has revealed he will once again be a major sponsor for the Bexhill Roaring 20s and the Bexhill Festival of the Sea.
Alastair said: “Over the last few weeks we’ve made some exciting announcements about this year’s Bexhill Roaring 20s event.
“Since publicising our intention to break the world record for the Largest Charleston Dance, interest has been coming in from as far afield as Antwerp and Chicago. This means that our Charleston will be an international one and we will welcome these people to our great town to celebrate with us as we smash the record.”
Alongside the world record attempt, the Bexhill Roaring 20s will mark the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Britain, the 80th anniversary of the De La Warr Pavilion and the 25th anniversary of the first Bexhill 100 Festival of Motoring at the July 18 event.
Speaking about the Bexhill Festival of the Sea, which is taking place on September 5 and 6, Alastair said: “It’s a perfect event for late summer in our town and I’m delighted to be the main sponsor of the event once again. More announcements on the event will be made in due course.”
He added: “With the sponsorship of these two events, as well as the fireworks event in the Polegrove in April, my ARGH! enterprise will be proudly funding Bexhill events to the tune of over £11,000.”
