Sponsor Frank and win some bubbly!

Frank, 52, is offering the prize to the sponsor who accurately guesses what number he will be wearing on his vest during the event.

With 40,000 runners, he concedes the odds are pretty long, so he is offering a bottle of champers to the sponsor who guesses the nearest number to the one he will be sporting.

It is the fifth London Marathon for Frank, of Terminus Avenue. The previous four have been to raise funds for St Michael's Hospice, Hastings.

This time it is for a Macmillan cancer relief nurse for the hospice.

Frank is running the 26-mile course as a tribute to close friend Margaret Farrer, who died from cancer last September.

Margaret, who lived in Bexhill, was an administrator with Rother Council.

Frank said: "Margaret was very well known in the town and I hope to have a great deal of support for this project.

"I've already raised 1,000, but hope to top 3,000 by the day of the race."
