St Marks Christmas Fair

More than £1,000 was raised by the Christmas fair at St Mark's church in Little Common at the weekend.

The event was organised by Julia Maling and included a wide range of stalls, games and fun for all ages.

Main attractions were a sale of cakes made by members of the Wednesday club, a book stall, and a craft table put together by brownies and guides who had decorated piggy banks and made handmade greetings cards, plus competitions such as Sweets in the Jar and Name The Bear.

Reverend Jonathan Frais said of the 1,045 total: "We were very encouraged...This was a Christmas fair but also a missionary fair to raise money for MAF, which is the Mission Aviation Fellowship. This flies Cessna light aircraft around East Africa, Papua New Guinea and other parts of the world, enabling doctors and other people working for Christian agencies to get to where they want to be."
