Nine students from St Mary’s School and 6th Form College hosted a lunch as part of their Foodtech BTEC level 2 course.
They had all passed their level 1 course last year. Each one invited a guest and sat down to a meal at the table which they had decorated beautifully with flowers as a centrepiece.
The food included pizza, chilli con carne, spaghetti bolognese, sausage pasta and meatball pasta. Desserts were summer fruit kebabs, milk jelly, chilled lemon flan and banana custard. All of the food was prepared and cooked by the students and served to them by St Mary’s staff.
Staff member Sharon Thompson said: “The atmosphere in the room was fabulous, all the students engaged with their guests and each other. They spoke to their guests about the food and they can be proud of the social skills they showed.”
