St Mary's Park housing development highlighted by Halifax

IT might be cold outside, but one area of the South East is hotting up.

Bexhill-on-Sea, in East Sussex, the location for Redrow's popular St Mary's Park development, is a potential hotspot for home buyers with a keen eye for a bargain according to recent research by leading estate agent, the Halifax.

The report, based on statistics taken from the annual investigation into house prices in seaside towns across the UK, has found that house prices in Bexhill-on-Sea have seen lower than average increases in relation to other resorts, meaning the town could be an untapped property hotspot for budding buyers.

Paul Moran, sales director for Redrow Homes (Southern), says: "Bexhill-on-Sea is a town that is a hot ticket to a new home, thanks to house prices maintaining a reasonable level in 2006. Therefore, according to the experts, there's more potential for future growth.

"We were delighted with the success of the apartments at St Mary's Park. People were bowled over by the starting price - 95,000 '“ which meant first time buyers, as well as couples, professionals, downsizers and even families, were able to stake their claim on the home of their choice."

After the success of the apartments, Redrow has released a collection of striking Regency style townhouses that are ideal for growing families who want to spread out as well as downsizers and empty nesters that can have their own space now that their children have flown the nest.

To demonstrate the townhouses on release, there is an opulent Rowling show home now open to view, which promotes the many benefits of three-storey living.

The Rowling is a stunning four-bedroom, three-storey townhouse which offers space for home buyers to really spread out in. In a three-storey property, home owners have the opportunity to set aside whole areas of the house for teenage children, an older relative or visiting guest. Unused bedrooms also lend themselves to alternative uses, such as a home office, gym or TV lounge.

A Rowling, similar to the show home, is currently priced from 242,000 and comes with a detached single garage. Other townhouses available at the development include the three-bedroom Larkin, priced from 230,000 and the four-bedroom Heaney, priced from 250,000. There is also the one remaining one-bedroom apartment, perfectly priced for the first time buyer, at 95,000.

"With a range of properties like this to choose from and prices to suit buyers from all walks of life, St Mary's Park is set to become one of the hottest developments in Bexhill-on-Sea," adds Paul.

With London just a 90-minute train journey away, Bexhill-on-Sea is also the ideal location for commuters who work all day in the city and want to unwind after a long day in the capital, as well as growing families requiring space and holiday home buyers.
