St Mary's Wrestwood Christmas Concert

ST MARY'S Wrestwood School and College presented a Christmas concert called, 'Heavenly News'.

Parents, friends, family and staff enjoyed an enchanting performance of what school music teacher Amanda Jagot explained as being, "the telling of the Nativity as a news report".

She said: "The St Mary's News team report on nine mysterious envelopes which have been magically sent to Father Christmas. The events of the First Christmas unfolds with the opening of each envelope."

She added: " It's a comical telling of the Nativity."

Talented St Mary's students performed various roles, which along with the traditional roles to be found in the Nativity scene, such as the Virgin Mary, Angel Gabriel and the Three Wise Men, also included a Roving Correspondent and performing sheep!

Traditional Carol singing and energetic dancing were enhanced with some students playing a range of musical instruments.

Piano solo's of Silent Night and Away in a Manger were beautifully played by Alexandra Haddow and Katie Hill.

Ms Jagot said: "Everyone at St Mary's has worked enthusiastically towards today's performance."
