Still time to talk to Bexhill High governors

THERE is still time for parents and carers at Bexhill High School to attend governors' surgeries set up after the recent OFSTED monitoring visit.

So far around 20 parents have asked to meet governors to discuss issues raised in the inspection.

The governing body decided the best way to address concerns was to stage surgeries where parents and carers come into the school on an individual basis.

This upset those parents who had called for a public meeting instead.

The surgeries for Year 7 and Year 9 parents have been taking place this week, while next week is the opportunity for those involved in Years 8 and 10.

They are running from 2-7pm, but Brian Kentfield, chair of governors, has stressed that parents must call the school in advance to make an appointment.

"We are pleased to give parents and carers the opportunity to come into school and talk to governors," said Mr Kentfield.

The discussions that have taken place this week have, we hope, been very productive, and any questions that we have been unable to answer immediately we have promised to respond as soon as we have the relevant information to hand.

"Next week is the opportunity for those who have children in Years 8 and 10. Please come and talk to us if you wish to."
