Storm distruption - rubbish collection update

WASTE collections in Rother are set to resume after disruption caused by storms which affected the county.

Rother District Council, along with other local authorities in East Sussex, suspended collections on Monday (28) to minimise debris being blown around and also avoid empty bins and boxes being blown onto the highway adding to possible disruption, but collections will resume from Tuesday (29).

Anyone whose waste and recycling was due to be collected on Monday is asked to leave their bins and containers out on Tuesday and waste collectors will collect these items first.

From Tuesday morning, residents are asked to put out their bins and containers as normal, ready for collection, and leave them out until the council’s teams can reach them.

Collections will be delayed all week but the council expects all collections to be completed by Friday.
