12-year-old Amy Leigh Hickman, who studies at Theatre Workshop Stage School, based in the Gunters Lane site of Bexhill High, plays Carmen in Beaker's Back, the tv series featuring popular children's character Tracy Beaker, created by author Jacqueline Wilson.

The CBBC programme stars Dani Harmer alongside Amy's character.

Theatre Workshop Director Lora Munro said: "Amy Leigh is a real credit to our Stage School and we are very proud of her.

Amy's commitment to attending regular classes and working very hard has been rewarded with this success."

Amy also stars in The Theatre Workshop's Pantomime Cinderella, performed in November.
