Students provided a showcase of what St Richard’s Catholic College has to offer when it held busiest Open Evening to date on Tuesday October 6.
Following an address by Principal Miss Cronin, Year 7 pupil Maddie Baszczak spoke about her experience of taster days in the summer term of Year 6 and the transition programme which helped her to settle in. She talked about how coming to St Richards has encouraged her to become more independent and confident.
The evening was an opportunities for parents, carers and prospective pupils to see all that the school has to offer.
Current pupils excelled themselves in a whirlwind of vibrant performances and activities.
Highlights included: a CSI History Murder Mystery, culinary magic in the Food Technology room, sports, music and Dance Company demonstrations, as well as all other departments being brought to life with displays, music, competitions and events.
Once again the Science department drew large crowds with their propensity to both dissect and set alight in a variety of exciting experiments!
Potential parents, carers and pupils were able to speak to the specialist teachers in charge of the excellent transition programme, special educational needs and disabilities and literacy, along with many other staff who were able to provide an insight into life at St Richards.
More than 200 current pupils were available to provide conversation, answer questions and guide visitors around the school.
