Stunning photography at Bexhill College

A Channel 4 led initiative led to Bexhill College's photography students producing some inspirational images during a recent competition.

Picture This is a website set up by Channel 4 for amateur photographers. The site sets weekly projects to inspire young people to take photographs.

First year AS photography students at the college were asked to select a project from the website and interpret as they wished.

Each student entered a photograph and all students were invited to vote for their favourite image. More than 200 votes were counted.

Max Chapman won the competition with his inventive use of hundreds and thousands (far right) while in second place was Hanna Wolosyn with a striking portrait shot (right). Joint third place went to Declan Proudfoot and Ben LittleMoore, while the teachers' favourite shot was a sunset taken by Ben Faulkner on Bexhill beach.

All winners received a photography prize from the college and the students will also and be entered onto the Channel 4 Picture This website where other photographers can comment on their work.

Photography teacher Faye Holland, who organised the event, said: "Well done to all the winners. I would like to congratulate all the students on their wonderful achievements. Picture This is about enabling student's confidence to grow and enabling them to experiment early on in the course.

"Thank you also to second year photography student Charlotte St Aubyn who took the photographs of the competition winners."
