Table sales of bric-a-brac, plants and books were available, along with a bouncy castle.

During the afternoon dancers from King Offa performed a Maypole dance.

For the hungry there was a barbecue, various cake stands and a candyfloss machine.

This year the Fair had a circus theme. Sue Munn, office manager, who organised the day, said: "We really want to thank the community for supporting us."

St Mary's is a children's charity and receives no grants or donations from Local Government and minimal funding from Central Government.

Kay Parkin, Director of Finance and Human Resources for the school, ran the popular Grand Raffle, where top prize was 100.

She said: "The people of Bexhill are always absolutely fantastic and support us at all our events."
