Aldi has announced that it is recruiting around 80 staff for its new and existing stores across Sussex.

The supermarket is looking for assistant store managers, deputy store managers, store assistants and stock assistants for its stores in Hastings, Bexhill, Crawley, Lewes, East Grinstead and its new store in Eastbourne.

Candidates with numerical skills are being targeted for Aldi’s store and stock assistant positions, to carry out responsibilities such as accurate and efficient till operation, stock management and merchandising.

All Aldi UK hourly-rate employees now receive a minimum rate of £8.40, regardless of age.

Full training will be provided for store assistants over a six week period and roles are available from 15 to 30 hours a week.

Graham Hetherington, regional managing director at Aldi, said: “The popularity of our stores across Sussex has led to an immediate need for a variety of store staff roles.”
