Support for scouts

ANOTHER in a long line of Bexhill's traders has come forward to offer their support to the Scouts after the recent destruction of the Scout hut and equipment by an arsonist's fire.

Hosers Watersports, of Marina, are to raffle a British-built 'Bilbo' flame surfboard (worth 350) which they have donated.

Owner Pat Meyer said he was prompted into taking action by two part-time members of staff who are Scouts.

He said: "After the tragedy of their Scout hut being burned down they were a bit bummed out and I thought we could try to get some money together and put a raffle on for a surf-board. All the proceeds from the money raised will go directly to them."

Pat, who is a native Canadian described the surfboard as "a beauty."

Raffle tickets are available from Hosers and the draw will take place at Hosers annual summer party on July 1.
