Sussex tycoon's cars auctioned

TWO cars belonging to late Sussex multi-millionaire and cricket enthusiast Spenta Cama come up for auction in Bexhill next week.

The cars are being sold as part of a three day fine art and antiques sales alongside a range of classic cars.

The first of Mr Cama's motors is a 1995 Dodge Grand Caravan LE with long wheel base and 3.3 litre engine, converted to accommodate a wheelchair with an Independent Mobility System.

The car was specially imported from Mexico, and has a current MOT. Gorringes estimate 5000-7000 as sale price.

The second is a 1974 Daimler Double Six with 5.3 litre engine.

It was last used, taxed and MOT'D in 1984 and has done 18,462 miles. It is a very rare car with low mileage and needs some work and a new MOT. Gorringes estimate it will reach 1000 - 2000.

Spenta Cama was a passionate cricket supporter and a generous benefactor. A former president of Sussex County Cricket Club, he was also a founder of the Preston Nomads cricket club which he founded with a few friends in 1927 at the age of 18.

Mr. Cama passed away last May at the age of 92. His will became public knowledge in June 2002, and has been valued at 23 million for probate purposes.
