Town Forum issues appeal for committee vacancies

Member organisations of Bexhill Town Forum are being invited to nominate members to fill two vacancies on its new executive committee which has been created to provide new drive.

The executive needs a secretary and press and media relations officer.

The committee meets eight times a year - once before and once just after the four public meetings of the forum.

The role of secretary would be to take minutes of the committee meetings, deal with general correspondence and liaise with the democratic services department at Rother District Council.

The person will need to be computer-literate and have access to a computer, ideally with e-mail and internet connection.

The press and media relations officer will be required to liaise regularly with the local press and radio and produce statements, press releases and promotional material.

Executive committee member Keith Rhodes, who is issuing the appeal, says: "Sadly, as with all the other committee positions, these are voluntary jobs although any direct costs for printing of minutes and any publications will be met by Rother District Council.

"These are team positions and there is plenty of willing help available from other members of the committee.
