Bexhill motorcyclist fractures thumb in head-on car crash

A motorcyclist from Bexhill fractured his thumb after a head-on crash with a car on Friday (October 28).

Emergency services were called to Powdermill Lane, near Battle, after the accident at around 3.20pm.

The biker, a 63-year-old man riding a Triumph Bonneville America 86, was thrown from his bike and suffered abrasions and a fractured thumb.

He was treated at the Conquest Hospital and later discharged.

The car driver, a 37-year-old man from Goldalming, Surrey, driving a black Vauxhall Mokka, was unhurt.

The road was blocked for recovery work between Lower Lake and Telham Lane until 4.45pm.
