County News: Man dies after hit by train near Sussex railway station

British Transport Police were called to the line close to Brook Lane, Rustington, at 12.50pm today (Friday May 8).

A spokesman for British Transport Police said: “The incident is not being treated as suspicious, and officers are now working to identify the man and inform his family.

“A file will be prepared for the coroner.”

Sussex Police and South East Coast Ambulance Service also attended and the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Some rail services have been cancelled and others delayed, creating problems at various stations.
