Crash blocks road, heavy rain hits East Sussex A road: Your Sussex evening travel update for Saturday, January 2

Slow traffic is being reported on the A2025 Grinstead Lane near A27 Old Shoreham Road (Sompting Roundabout), the AA said. The delays are affecting traffic heading into the Sompting Roundabout.

There are severe delays of eleven minutes and increasing on the B2066 Western Road Eastbound between Saxon Road and B2122 Montpelier Road. The average speed is five mph.

The B2116 is blocked both ways near Westmeston due to a crash between Streat Lane and the B2116 Westmeston Parish Hall turnoff, the AA said. Police are on the way to investigate the collision.

Heavy rain is also being reported on the A26 both ways in East Sussex.

Network Rail is carrying out planned engineering works this weekend on parts of the network to maintain and improve the railway, Southern Rail said.
