Hastings woman suffers serious injuries in collision

Two people were taken to hospital after a collision closed a road in Ninfield.

Emergency services were called to the incident in Catsfield Road, Ninfield, at approximately 5.45pm on Sunday (June 7).

Police said officers responded to reports of a Mini Cooper having crashed into a hedge. The road was closed for approximately two hours.

Ambulance crews also attended the scene, a spokesman added, and two patients were assessed and treated at the scene before being taken to Conquest Hospital.

Both were conscious at the scene, SECAmb said.

The driver – a 20-year-old woman from Hastings – was taken to Conquest Hospital with serious arm, leg and pelvic injuries; the passenger – a 19-year-old woman from Bexhill – was taken to the same hospital with minor injuries.

No other vehicles were involved.
