Six crews respond to fire in Hastings

Six fire engines have been sent to tackle a fire in Hastings this afternoon.

The fire serviced was called at 12.24pm to reports of a fire in Sedlescombe Road North in Hastings.

There are no reports of injuries or any people involved, the fire service confirmed.

Giving an update at 1.45pm, the fire service confirmed that a derelict building measuring around 20m by 15 m was alight.

Crews were using two breathing apparatus and six hose reel jets to tackle the blaze.

Utility companies and UK Power have been notified, the spokesman confirmed.

Residents are being asked to avoid the area.
