There are reports of heavy traffic on one of the main roads this morning following an accident.

According to the AA, the incident involved one vehicle on the A2690 Queensway in St Leonards.

Traffic is affected both ways at the B2092. The incident was reported just before 7.20am.

Elsewhere one lane is currently closed due to a stalled vehicle on the M23 Southbound between M25 J7 and J9 (Gatwick Airport).

Ongoing roadworks are taking place across the county, which may impact on motorists’ journeys.

There are temporary traffic signals due to construction work on A268 Wish Street at A259 in Rye.

There are also temporary traffic lights due to emergency repairs to a burst water main on A268 Landgate around Military Road.

Gas main work means there are temporary traffic signals on Victoria Drive at Northiam Road in Eastbourne.

There is an ongoing speed restriction of 30mph and restrictions due to construction on the A22 from B2102 (Copwood roundabout) to A26 Lewes Road. Speed restrictions have dropped from 60mph to 30mph.

In the west of the county there are temporary traffic signals due to construction work on B2140 Roundstone Lane at Roundstone level crossing. There is traffic management in place due to works on the level crossing.

Temporary traffic signals are in place due to construction work on A259 High Street near The Corner House, with re-aligning of signs and kerbing.

Temporary traffic lights are in operation due to gas main work on West Street at Western Road North.

The lights are in place due to emergency repairs to a leaking gas main.
