UPDATE: Driver taken to hospital after Bexhill Hastings Link Road crash

A driver was taken to hospital after crashing on the Bexhill-Hastings Link Road today (Friday, March 3).

Emergency services were called to A2690 Combe Valley Way at around 12.15pm, after reports of a car crashing into the central reservation.

Hastings firefighters made the vehicle safe after reports of smoke.

The male driver was assessed and treated before being taken to Conquest Hospital as a priority, but he was fully conscious en route, according to South East Coast Ambulance Service.

The road was cleared by around 1.40pm.
