Travellers arrived at Glyne Gap over the weekend.
Around 24 caravans are currently pitched up in the field on the border of Hastings and Bexhill.
The land is privately owned and talks are taking place with a view to move the visitors on.
A spokesperson for Hastings Borough Council said: “It’s up to the landowner to take action.
“But I do know discussions are continuing.”
It is the second time gypsies have visited the Bexhill area in as many months.
On May 26, a dozen caravans parked up on the cricket and football pitches at The Downs.
