A vigilant neighbour helped thwart a potential con artist in Bexhill.
Police and trading standards officers spoke to a householder after his neighbour reported that he had been visited by a suspicious caller.

The caller had offered to help the householder clear his garden for only what he could afford, and having done so said he would come back next day.
Although he did return, the householder was out. No further suspicious activity was reported.
Meanwhile the householder was seen by both Police Community Support Officer Roy Collins and a Trading Standards officer, working together in an ongoing partnership to tackle rogue traders.
They advised him what to do should anyone come back demanding payment for the work carried out.
Later PCSO Collins said: “I’m really impressed that neighbours stepped in to support this person and that sensibly they told police about their suspicions.”
