A team of volunteers from Bexhill Environmental Group will be carrying out a beach clean on Saturday December 19 and are asking people to lend a hand.
Chris Ashford, from the group, said: “My motorhome will be parked at the Western end of the Promenade opposite Richmond Road from 9.30am to distribute gloves, grabbers, buckets and bags from 9.30am.
“This is an activity suitable for all ages, children must be accompanied and do please wear stout shoes.
“A hot cup of tea or coffee and biscuits, donated by the Co-op in Devonshire Road will welcome you on your return, finishing at 12 noon.”
Chris added: “Average UK beach litter levels have increased by 90% over the past 16 years. Plastic litter levels have increased by 146% since 1994.
