Mr Kevin Gordon has recently given us a very interesting talk entitled The History of Parliament which gave an insight into the many activities which take place that many of us are unaware of. We have also enjoyed a Coffee and Gateaux Evening.
More recently our T.W.G. East Sussex Federation Day took place at St Peters Community Centre Bexhill and the theme being Nautical But Nice. Eight Guilds entered the Best Stall Competition and the winner was Bexhill Marina Guild depicting a lovely sunny day with families enjoying themselves at the seaside. There was also a photographic competition. In the morning Erie Huke gave a very informative talk with slides on “Raising the Marie Rose” followed by an amusing sketch by Silverhill Guild - the theme of course A Day By The Sea. After a break for a Fish & Chips lunch Ken Brooks gave a talk with slides on a Day by the Sea which included reminders of Billy The Tubman and many lively characters from the past. The day concluded with the Sussex Song Girls from Eastboume performing some seaside songs and finally a rendition of What Shall We do with a Drunken Sailor in which the audience participated - a lovely day enjoyed by all.
We are now looking forward to a Strawberry Tea, some Theatre Trips and days out.
