Wine and FoodFestival big finale
The 1066 Food and Wine Festival comes to an upbeat close on Sunday May 29 with a grand finale at St Mary in the Castle from 7pm - 10.30pm.
Organiser Ken Maitland said: “There will be a pop up wine bar featuring wines from around the world, chosen by wine experts, and music from Stax of Motown / Soul X Press.
Everyone will be given a free taste of quality English sparkling wine and there will some light hearted competitions around wine with appropriate prizes.
Tickets are available from Hastings Tourist Information Centre or online at www 1066wineandfoodfestival.com priced £15.
The Festival got off to a bubbly start last week when famous wine critic and popular TV presenter Jilly Goolden opened the Festival in the historic ruins of Battle Abbey.
More than 1,000 people attended a Food Fair at the De La Warr Pavilion last Sunday.
The Festival is being organised on a non commercial basis by local volunteers with a love of wine and food and in promoting what 1066 country can offer in hospitality and tourism. Any surplus from events will go to local causes such as the food banks.
There are promotions and tastings at restaurants and wine merchants across the area.
A full colour programme with articles about wine and food, maps and a competition is widely available.
