Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman was attacked in Clifton Rise, Bexhill, on Tuesday (March 31).

The victim was walking east along De La Warr Road between 12.30am and 1am when her shoulder and hip were grabbed by someone at the junction of Clifton Rise.

The 26-year-old ran to the nearby Tesco where she reported the incident. Her leggings were ripped in the incident but she was not hurt.

The attacker was between 5’ 6” and 5’ 10” and was possibly wearing black woollen gloves.

Sergeant Ian Miller said: “Although the victim was not hurt this was obviously a very frightening experience for her.

“We need to speak to anyone who was in De La Warr Road in the early hours of Tuesday morning and who saw the attack or someone acting suspiciously around Clifton Rise.

“If you have any information at all, please get in touch.”
