A true gentleman and friend

Rarely is one privileged to meet, and count amongst one’s friends, a truly perfect gentleman but that perfectly describes John Lee.

As well as being very immersed in local affairs John was a regular jogger, not many years ago having competed in the Hastings half marathon with his son and grandson.

Often heard, as well as seen, in his beloved red classic Mercedes sports car he was a well recognised local personality, who always had time to stop, talk and try to help with any problems that he came across.

Bexhill residents and the many activists who were his friends will sorely miss the man who meticulously worked through the minutiae to present comprehensive plans and solutions – often firing off emails at one or two in the morning!

We send our sincere condolences to his family.
