Regarding Gullivers Bowls Club: With reference to the final decision that the development can proceed by a judge recently, it should be hoped that the development may take place sooner rather than later.
The development looks attractive and will complement the area, despite the insistence by protesters that it will be ‘out of place’.
The alternative would be the closure of the bowls club, depriving the town of a community asset and leaving potential for just waste land to be left behind.
Inevitably in the future the same situation would resurface when developers tried to build on the site.
Also consider this, at some time in the past the planning committee agreed to the development at the southern end of Sackville Road, a more depressing and ‘out of place’ development on either side could not be imagined. As somebody who remembers Bexhill in its heyday I am appalled that this area was so spoiled by atrocious designs, so how on earth can protesters about Knole Road complain about a nice development there and stay quiet about Sackville Road development?
Good luck Gullivers, we look forward to seeing your new greens as soon as possible.
