Have your say on car parks

Since introducing having to pay to park in the car park in Little Common, the car park is almost always all but empty.

The surrounding roads, mainly Birkdale, have become quite dangerously lined with parked cars, causing difficulty for any sized vehicle to manoeuvre through.

At the time of the election I did bring this to the attention of a councillor, who agreed that the situation was becoming difficult for everyone.

I had mentioned that in Paddock Wood, the first hour is free to park in the two small car parks in the middle of the village centre and that maybe this could be an ideal solution for Little Common too.

I would have thought that very few people need to be in Little Common longer than an hour.

He was bringing this up with a local MP but maybe we need to make ourselves heard en mass!

Does anyone else thinks this a good way to use the car park, reduce congestion around the village centre, (thus making it safer for drivers and pedestrians)and be affordable for the mainly older residents?

If you do, why don’t you write to your councillor and/or your local MP? Something needs to be done.
