Freedom of expression and respect for others’ views is one of the basics of our civilised society and generally has been part of the process for the referendum in the past couple of months.
I observed many posters locally and throughout neighbouring counties with probably a preponderance for leave campaign. I put a poster in my front garden for Remain a couple of weeks ago. It only lasted a week and was removed by someone who presumably disagreed.
Can we condemn this type of undemocratic intolerant behaviour by some insecure action to suppress alternative suggestions? I am unaware of any other such incidences.
One can only hope that such actions did not influence close election results with potential changes of course for future direction of the country. Here’s to rebuilding our delicate democratic garden with supportive and tolerant football flags as well!
