By: John.Dowling RESIDENTS of Rother are being asked for their views to help the council plan for long-term development needs.

Having adopted its Local Plan, Rother District Council is now starting work on planning up to 2026.

The key component of this new Local Development Framework will be a Core Strategy which sets out the overall vision for Rother and the general distribution of development over the next 20 years.

An Issues and Options document, which is the first stage in developing this strategy, has now been published for consultation.

Cllr Brian Kentfield, cabinet portfolio holder for the Local Development Framework said:

"We are determined that our future policies reflect the priorities of local people, and that Rother grows and changes in response to local needs.

Therefore, this is an important opportunity for local people to help shape the future direction of development and change."
