Youth groups can sign up for awards

This comes under the club’s annual Youth Awards Scheme, which seeks to give grants to groups and organisations which support and benefit the young.

Applicants should outline information on their organisation, the number of young members, age groups, the project for which financial help is required, what the group is doing to fund it and the estimated cost.

Bexhill Lions say they cannot guarantee every application will be successful, nor can the club match all of the money needed to meet the cost of the project.

Lion Freddie Thorns, chairman of the youth commmittee, said: “But, as that well-known supermarket is always keen to tell us, every little helps.”
