Kit Harington is among the cast list for guest stars featuring in the second series of Criminal.

The Game of Thrones actor is just one of the confirmed guest stars, alongside Catastrophe’s Sharon Horgan, Hotel Rwanda's Sophie Okonedo and The Big Bang Theory actor Kunal Nayyar.

Harington, who is best known for his role as Jon Snow in the HBO fantasy drama, will play a suspect who is grilled by team of investigators over a crime his character is believed to have committed.

The series is unique in that it is set solely within the walls of a police interrogation room.

The first series, released on Netflix, gained popularity after it featured guest stars such as David Tennant and Hayley Atwell who each played suspected criminals.

What will the second season entail?

The new series will see the investigative team handle four new separate cases along with four new suspects.

The trailer for the new series, released on Netflix, reveals Harington in a suit trying to convince the investigators of his innocence saying, “Nice and simple, let me tell you everything that happened, everything that I can remember, in order".

However a few clips later and it appears his character has buckled under the pressure of the situation, shouting angrily "how many times do I have to prove I'm not a problem to you people".

Katherine Kelly, best known for her role on Coronation Street, Line of Duty actress Rochenda Sandall, The A Word star Lee Ingleby and A Suitable Boy’s Shubham Saraf will all be returning for their roles as Detective Inspector Hobbs, Vanessa Warren, Tony Myerscough and Kyle Petit.

When will the show make its return?

The upcoming second season of Criminal will be launched on Netflix on September 16.
