Barry brothers join Bexhill Cricket Club

HASTINGS Priory Cricket Club are hoping to bring in new players for the forthcoming season as they bid to improve on last year's runners-up position in the Sussex Premier.

With pace bowler John Morgan joining county side Derbyshire, Sussex's Michael Yardy unavailable for his regular cameos and no overseas player lined-up, Priory need to strengthen their squad for the new season.

The most likely source of players is Crowborough who have pulled out of the league as they are unable to field two full sides.

Top players such as all rounder Andy Cornford and off-spinner Richard Jackson are among the targets of several clubs in the top flight.

Division Two neighbours Bexhill will be on hand to tempt any fringe Priory players away who could be replaced by the new additions.

They have already signed Crowhurst Park players Martin and Paul Barry. The former was one of the stars of Park's championship season in the East Sussex League.

Overseas player Sam Roberts has been named club captain and Jeff Chinn appointed director of cricket.
