Bexhill and Sidley both lose out

IT WAS a bad day all round for the cricket teams of Bexhill and Sidley in the Sussex Cricket League at the weekend.

Bexhill went down by 86 runs at second-placed Littlehampton whose total of 220 all out was never under much threat.

The visitors were dismissed for 134, although victory was only secured with eight balls to spare.

Simon Bulteel (4-62) and Craig Ervine (3-62) did well with the ball for Bexhill, while captain Chris Topp (34 not out) top-scored with the bat.

Also in the Second Division, Sidley picked up just two points after suffering a heavy defeat at the hands of Stirlands.

The home side was shot out for just 139 as Danny Cox (4-49) and Gary Bush (2-24) enjoyed themselves at Gullivers.

Former Sussex player Sean Heather (79 not out) and Nick Hunt (52 not out) then steered Stirlands to a 10-wicket win.

The second teams of Bexhill and Sidley also lost at the hands of Hastings Priory and Stirlands respectively.
