Bexhill hoping for final flourish

BEXHILL United boss Len Watkins has challenged his side to finish the season with a flourish.

The Sussex Division Three outfit round off their home league programme on Saturday March 15 with a visit from Upper Beeding.

United have only two more fixtures after the weekend and Watkins hopes to secure maximum points.

He said: "I would like to finish on a high. We beat them easily in the first game and we got hammered in the cup two weeks later. I think they are not a bad side. All the teams seem to be capable of beating each other and they are no exception."

Chris Makin is to undergo a hernia operation and will miss the remainder of the campaign as will Darrel Shaw (torn cartilage). Goalkeeper Neil Cheek (work commitments) returns.
