The winners will be announced and presented with their awards at The O2 Arena in London on Friday April 24.

Hastings Half Marathon race director Eric Hardwick said: “I would like to see all Hastings people vote for Hastings.”

Entries are now over the 1,000 mark, meanwhile, for the 31st Hastings Half Marathon on Sunday March 22, 2015.

Anyone wishing to sign up who hasn’t yet done so can enter now at www.hastings-half.co.uk and Hardwick wanted to make runners aware of a short-term membership offer from Freedom Leisure designed to help them with their training.

The event will be part of the 2015 Harvey Curtis Sussex Road Race Challenge. This series of races is the premier road running series in Sussex.

Hastings is also a member of the Sussex Road Racing Grand Prix, which covers a series of 10 events during the year.

The waiting list for the Bexhill-Hastings Link Road 10K is still growing daily and organisers say it is not a problem for them if the race is put back to June as a result of delays to the road’s construction.
