Boxing clever at ASTHA showbar

WEST Hill Boxing Club held a hugely successful annual show at the ATHA Showbar on Saturday night.

There were 13 bouts in total and eight of the Hastings-based club's fighters enjoyed the opportunity to showcase their skills.

"It was an excellent night," said coach Dave Bishop. "It was a really good show, there was a good atmosphere there and everyone was happy."

Around 200 people turned up at the Little Common Road venue and they saw fighters from 10 different clubs around the South East.

The highlight for the local club was Bruce Lawson's "fantastic" unanimous points victory over Bexley's Jamie Hughes in the 15 years, 58 kilo class.
