RP Combat Conditioning also provided the winner of the Dirty Dozen event as Sam Cherry completed the 12k course in the fastest time of the day to triumph for the second time in two weeks.

Faced with tough, muddy conditions where competitors were tasked with scaling 10ft high walls, freezing cold sheep dips and barbed wire surrounded commando crawls, Cherry crossed the finish line in 49 minutes.

His RPCC team-mates Richard Pringle, Seph O’Gorman and Blake Mitchell finished eighth, ninth and 10th respectively in an event that included many military personal and nationally recognised racers among a field of more than 600 athletes.

Other standout performances came from Michelle Mitchell, who was seventh woman overall, and Kirsty Carter, 19th out of nearly 200 female entrants.

RPCC entered a team of 24 into the race and others that completed the tough multi obstacle course were Alex Tribe, Keith Cherry, Adam Shaw, Rian Mowle, Dan Isted, Ian Burt, Maria Dennis, Mark Dayrell, Michael Drinkwater, Lydia Drinkwater, Jordan Townsend, Lee Clarke, Carole Hedger, Dan Swann, Ella Roberts, Stephen Drinkwater and John Hedger.

Cherry - one of the race favourites - and a number of the RPCC team are set to tackle the renowned Reebok Spartan Beast, voted the toughest race in the UK, on Saturday November 9.
